The Word of God is God speaking directly to you. The term “Thus saith the Lord” is repeated many times from Exodus to Deuteronomy. God and His Word are one, and the Word is always now or what we call “present tense”. Hebrews 4:12-13 from the James Moffatts’ Translation reads, “The Logos of God is a living thing, active and more cutting than any sword with a double edge, penetrating to the very division of soul and spirit, joints, and marrow—scrutinizing the very thoughts and conceptions of the heart. And no created thing is hidden from Him; all things lie open and exposed before the eyes of Him with Whom we have to reckon.”

The Word is called the “Logos.” Jesus is the Logos, and the Logos is a living thing—not in the book, not on a written page. But on the lips of the believer. There is no created thing hidden from Him, this Living Word. The Word searches us out, finds us. This Scripture should be studied carefully, because the Word is our contact with God the Father, and the Word is His contact with us.

Jesus said in John 16:8, “And when He is come, He will reprove [convict] the world of sin [in respect of sin], and of righteousness, and of judgment.” This conviction can come from no other source than the Word. It is a threefold conviction. First, He convicts of our union with Satan. John 16:11 reads, “Of judgement, because the prince of this world is [has been] judged.” This natural man is judged in Satan, because man is a child of Satan until he receives Christ.

Then John 5:44-45 reads, “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, you believe me not.” First John 3:10 says, “In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever does not righteousness is not of God, neither he who loves not his brother.”

Second, He convicts of righteousness, showing that although we are children of the devil, righteousness is available and belongs to us. And third, He convicts of sin because we believe not in Him. There is only one sin for which the sinner will be judged: that is the rejection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

James 1:18 informs us that we are created by the Word of God. “Of His own Will He brought us forth by Word of Truth, that we should be a kind of first-fruits of His creatures [creations]. Jesus gives us some interesting information as well from John 3:3-8, Jesus answered and said unto him [Nicodemus], “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said unto Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?” Jesus answered, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto you, you must be born again. The wind blows where it lists (wills), and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes, and where it goes: so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Then in First Peter 1:23, Peter says, “Having been begotten again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the Word of God, which lives and abides forever.” The Word imparts to us eternal life. Were it not for the Word, we would not know that there was a redemption or a substitution or a new creation.

I want to encourage you to stay in faith. Stay in the Word of God every day, This the only thing that will keep the believer in the days we are living in. Keep INCREASE ON YOUR MIND, KEEP SPEAKING INCREASE, and the right things and making the right confessions of faith. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; and remember “God loves you; we love you and JESUS IS LORD!”
