In Luke 8:9-10, Jesus’ Disciples came to Him to ask Him a question concerning a parable He had given them. “And His Disciples asked Him, saying, ‘What might this parable be?’ And He said, ‘Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.’”
This statement Jesus made to His Disciples, was a struggle to make them understand the hidden wealth of an almost unknown truth of the Word of God. The same holds true today, to make real to the Modern Church this hidden wealth of the truth from God’s Word. It’s my assignment and goal, that a portion, at least, of the Body of Christ will be living in the freshness of the power of God, that “Early Church” experienced and walked in. How I hunger and desire for God’s people walk in the revelation that God has made available to us in the last days.
The Lord had something very interesting to say through His Prophet Isaiah, “And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the LORD, Who call you by your name, am the God of Israel” (Isaiah 45:3).
Then the Apostle Paul says gives us some more insight in his letter to the Colossians, “For I would (prayed or wished) that you knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh. That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ. In Whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
It’s important to understand, comprehend, and unveil the truth and the power that is in and behind the NAME OF JESUS! Why is this Name so important? There are several reasons. In Philippians 2:9-11, Paul gives us even more insight about the Name of Jesus.
Philippians 2:9-11, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name. That at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in Earth, and things under the Earth. And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the Glory of God the Father.”
The Name of Jesus is the most powerful Name ever given to anyone from the beginning of time. That Name is above every name! And every knee will bow down to that Name! If language means anything, then Jesus has given to the Church the “Power of Attorney” to use His Name. Now what is the value of this “Power of Attorney?” It depends upon how much there is behind it, how much authority, and how much power this Name represents. The measure of His ability is the measure of the value of His Name. And all that is invested in that Name belongs to us, because Jesus gave us the unqualified use of His Name!
As the Christian takes his or her privileges and rights in the New Covenant, and uses Jesus’ Name, it passes out of our hands into the hands of Jesus; then He assumes the responsibility! In other words, we know that the Father always hears Jesus, and when we use Jesus’ Name, it is as though Jesus Himself were whatever we ask in Jesus’ Name—He takes our place!
It’s sad to say, but there are way too many Christians who are trying to live a victorious life in the Lord, without understanding the power that is in the Name of Jesus. I want to encourage you to stand strong in the Lord and know your authority and right as a believer to use and apply the Name of Jesus in every situation and circumstance you may be facing right now. The victory is yours in and through that powerful Name, THE NAME OF JESUS!
Also, I want to encourage you to be careful what you listen to, pray in the Holy Spirit, stay in faith, stay in the Word, keep speaking the right things and making the right confessions of faith, pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and remember “God loves you; we love you and JESUS IS LORD!”
