In June of 2022, as I was in prayer with our Intercessory Prayer Team, the Lord began to deal with me about several different things that He wanted me to do in the ministry. I said, “Lord, I am now in my sixties, I have been pastoring what will be this year 35 years, and I had been contemplating about slowing down just a little bit, even though I never plan on quitting or retiring. I just thought I’d slow down a little bit, and have my assistants do more teaching and ministering.”
What the Lord had to say to me next, I really didn’t expect. One thing He said to me was, “I want you to begin having ‘Special Healing Services’ throughout the year. My people are sick and diseased, and I want you to teach them what My Word says, and I want you to lay hands on them after you feed their faith so they will be ready to receive their healing.”
I responded by saying, “But Lord we preach and teach healing here at Oasis of Faith, we even give anyone who is in attendance in our services and Bible Studies the opportunity to have hands laid on them and be prayed for, why do we need to have these ‘Special Healing Services?’
He then said to me, “You are one of very few churches around the country who still preaches, teaches and believes in My healing power. There are many church in your area who don’t preach, teach or even believe in Divine Healing, and they don’t even believe in laying hands on the sick to help them to be healed. I want you to have these ‘Special Healing Services,’ and I want you to open these services to anyone who needs healing, so I can use you to touch their physical bodies.”
He went on to say, “These services are not so you can get more church members, but people will come and will be healed, and don’t be moved by the size of the crowds. As you obey Me, remember all that it takes is one miracle to take place, and word of mouth will make it spread like wildfire. I want you to do what I have called you to do, and let Me heal My people.”
It’s sad to say, but the church world is in desperate need for a touch from God in these last days. As we continued to pray and seek the Lord, He showed us how to conduct the services. Then on Sunday November 6, 2022, we held our first ‘Special Healing Service.’ This year we have had three more services, and we are now planning for our next upcoming meeting on September 3, 2023.
This brings me to what I want to share with you this month concerning the Healing Power of the Word of God! The Apostle Peter tells us in First Peter 2:24, “Who His Own Self bare our sins in His Own Body on the Tree (Cross), that we being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by Whose stripes you WERE healed.”
The Word of God says “You were healed! Sickness and disease is a curse which would upon those who broke the Old Covenant Law. The Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians 3:13, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law, being made a curse for us.” Then in Matthew 8:14-17, “And when Jesus came into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever. And Jesus touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose, and ministered unto them. When the evening came, they brought unto Him many who were possessed with devils, and He cast out the spirits with His Word, and healed all who were sick, That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the Prophet, saying, ‘Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.’”
Jesus took your infirmities and He bore your sicknesses. We as Believers need to learn to read the Scriptures with a personal identification. If Jesus took your infirmities, and bore your sicknesses, that means then, that He has them, and you don’t! So the one question I ask those who are in need of healing is, “If Jesus took your infirmities and bore your sicknesses, then what are you doing with them? Many times they look at me as if the light went on and they begin to realize that Jesus paid the price for their healing, and they don’t have to be sick.
There is healing power in the Word of God. “My son, attend to My Words; incline your ear unto My Sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they (Words) are life unto those who find them, and health (medicine and healing) to all their flesh.” (Proverbs 4:20-22)
In the original Hebrew, it says that the power of God’s Word is HEALTH, MEDICINE AND HEALING TO ALL THEIR FLESH! That’s what God’s Word brings to anyone who will dare to believe and take God at His Word, HEALTH, MEDICINE AND HEALING!
I want to encourage you that God wants you well and living a life without any sickness or disease. I also want to encourage you to spend time each and every day, praying in the Holy Spirit, stay in faith, stay in the Word, keep speaking the right things and making the right confessions of faith, pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and remember “God loves you; we love you and JESUS IS LORD!”
