A lot is being said today about Biblical Prosperity, some good and some bad. But regardless of who you may listen to, it’s always safe to stick with the Word of God. Recently I heard a “Faith” preacher give a testimony of how God had stripped him of all of his blessings. He lost his home, his car, his bank account, and most of what we would call earthly possessions. This is why we MUST stick with the Word! God is a giver, and not a taker. Jesus said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, He GAVE…” The Apostle John gives us very valuable insight on the matter of prosperity in 3 John 2.
“Beloved, I wish (or pray) above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.” This is the will of God revealed to His people through the Apostle John. God’s desire is that we as His children all prosper and be in health. One translation goes on to say, “…even as your understanding increases.”
The Apostle Paul’s letter to the Church at Philippi reveals even more to us in chapter 4 and verse 19. “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus”. In Paul’s letter he was commending the Believers for their generosity in giving. Another Scripture I want you to consider is found in the Psalms.
In Psalms 115:14-16, listen to what David had to say. “The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. You are blessed of the LORD who made Heaven and earth. The Heaven, even the Heavens, are the LORD’s, but the earth has He given to the children of men.” If God has given the earth to the children of men, then that means He has given the earth and everything in it to you and me. Evidently as we look around, the earth and everything in it is in the wrong hands, because it belongs to us.
I believe with all of my heart it is the perfect will of God for all of His children to be blessed and to prosper in all they do. David said in first Psalm, verses 1-3, “Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the Law of the LORD; and in His Law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.”
In Deuteronomy 8:17-18, the Lord tells the children of Israel through Moses. “And you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand has gotten me this wealth.’ But you shall remember the LORD your God: for it is He Who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His Covenant which He swore unto your fathers, as it is this day.” My question to any Believer is this, “If the Lord didn’t want your as a Christian to be wealthy, why in God’s green earth would He give you the power to get it?”
There are many more verses from the Bible I can give you, but want to give you one more, and it’s found in Proverbs 10:22, and it reads, “The blessing of the LORD, it makes rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.”
Personally, I don’t know any person in their right mind who doesn’t want to be rich and wealthy. Now, I’ll leave it up to you as to who you are going to believe, some preacher, some uninformed Christian, or God’s Word. I choose God’s Word and I pray you do as well.
I want to encourage you to stay in faith. Stay in the Word of God every day, This the only thing that will keep the believer in the days we are living in. Keep INCREASE ON YOUR MIND, KEEP SPEAKING INCREASE, and the right things and making the right confessions of faith. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; and remember “God loves you; we love you and JESUS IS LORD!”
